York Memorial CI Girls Senior Cricket Team

York Memorial Collegiate Institute won the Toronto West Region Senior Girls Outdoor Cricket Final against West Humber Collegiate Institute on Wednesday (May 9, 2018) at Centennial Park, Etobicoke. York Memorial bowled out West Humber for 20 after 7.5 overs then struck 21 for 2 wickets from 4.2 overs to capture the regional championship on the west ground. Four schools from the western parts of Toronto participated in Tuesday’s qualifying games: Kipling CI, North Albion CI, West Humber CI and York Memorial CI.

York Memorial’s win on Wednesday takes them into the Toronto City final which is due to be played on Monday May 14. The opposition and ground to the Toronto City final has yet to be confirmed and the York Memorial leadership has an eye on a weather forecast that predicts rain on Monday.

The York Memorial squad won the Toronto District School Board West Region and City indoor girls high schools cricket championship in April.
