Salman Nazar took two wickets and West Indies were 83/3 after 15.3 overs. However Marlon Samuels (101) and Yannic Cariah (73) put on 165, as the West Indies took control. Rodrigo Thomas made 63 from 55 balls before he was bowled by Cariah. The hundred came up in the 16th over with Kumar and Wijayeratne at the wicket. They put on 54 before Kumar was yorked for 21- 144/3 after 24 overs. Jacobs contributed 13 before he was caught behind. Wijayeratne completed a well-crafted half-century, and with 16 overs to go Canada needed 112. The run rate was climbing; Dutta was caught in the deep trying to hit over the top and  when Wijayeratne was caught behind for 57,  the match swung towards WI-B. Harsh Thaker (52*) and Sukhdeep Brar (both making their List A debut) battled hard, with an unbroken 9th wicket partnership of 65, but 28 from the last two overs proved too much and Canada fell 10 runs short.
