Wijeyeratne winters in Australia

Canadian national team member, Srimantha Wijeyeratne, left yesterday to Melbourne to join Murrambeena C.C. to play the Australian summer season of 2018/19. He will be representing the club in all three formats of the game.
The club, Murrambeena was founded in 1910, in two decades became one of the best suburban clubs in Victoria by 1930 and takes part in all formats of the game conducted by VTCA – Victoria Cricket Association.
He will also have the company of 24 year old speedster, Nuwan Karunaratne, who has played 18 first class games in Sri Lanka.
Whilst playing the game, Srimantha will look in to the avenues of enhancing his knowledge in the game by following recognized coaching programs conducted by VTCA.
In the recently concluded WICB Regional Super 50, Srimantha scored 57 (71) against West-Indies ‘B’ in the very first match, and in the only win recorded by the Canadian team on tour, he scored a run a ball 35.
