Canada’s Upcoming Challenge League Matches

The schedule (fixtures) for the first ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League Group A series have been published on the ICC website. The opening game on Monday, 16 September 2019 sees Denmark take on hosts Malaysia. Canada’s matches begin next day (17 September) when Vanuatu provide the opposition at Selangor Turf Club, Kuala Lumpur. The other two participants in Group A, Singapore and Qatar go head-to-head on September 17.
Canada faces hosts Malaysia at the Kinrara Oval, Kuala Lumpur on Thursday, September 19. Qatar provide Canada’s next opposition at the Kinrara Oval on Sunday, September 22. Denmark are Canada’s opponents on Wednesday, September 23, also at the Kinrara Oval and Canada’s schedule concludes with a game against Singapore at the Selangor Turf Club on Thursday, September 26.
All matches in the Cricket World Cup Challenge League have List A status and there will be two more Group A tournaments involving the same six countries that form part of the qualification process for the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup in India. Only the top team from Group A after three tournaments will advance to the next phase of the World Cup qualification process, so the basic need is for Canada to win and keep winning.
