ICC Americas T20 Qualifier for WC 2022 Postponed

The International Cricket Council (ICC) today (7 May 2021) announced the ICC Americas Men’s T20 Regional Qualifier, due to be hosted by Cricket Canada has been postponed to a later date. The venue may be subject to change, depending on the COVID-19 situation.
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Americas Qualifier 1 was due to be hosted by Cricket Canada between 17 and 23 July 2021. The Americas qualifier has been postponed due to government and travel restrictions. New dates and host country will be confirmed in due course.
The ICC Americas Qualifier T20 tournament is due to involve Canada, Argentina, Bahamas, Belize, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Panama and the USA. New dates and host country will be confirmed in due course.
The Asia Qualifier B has also been postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions while the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier has new dates.
Three ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub Regional Europe Qualifiers – pathway tournaments to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia via a subsequent Europe Qualifier- have been cancelled due to COVID-19. Italy, Germany and Denmark have been deemed to qualify from the Europe Sub-Regional Qualifiers for the Europe Qualifier. (EN)
