Aaron Lawton reporting for Fairfax News in New Zealand talked to Jacob Oram about the scheduled all-star match.
Allrounder Oram confirmed last night he’d been approached and said he was “99.99 per cent” sure the one-off T20 would go ahead.
“I don’t have my flights and logistical stuff sorted out yet,” he said. “But basically, it’s a one-off Twenty20 match in Toronto and an Asian XI will be taking on a World XI.
“I think it’s part promotional and about taking the game to a minnow country but there will have to be benefits in it for the organisers and sponsors. I know they are looking to play it at the Rogers Centre, which is under a dome.
“It will be a pretty cool experience. There are contracts and it’s not a cowboyish situation,” Oram said.
