TDCA launches Junior Rep Team Tournament

The TDCA Board, in conjunction with the Junior Cricket Committee, is pleased to announce the launch of our Under -15 and Under -18 Rep Teams tournament. At the end of the tournament, the top 24 players from the GTA, based on performance in the rep tournament, as well as, from performance in the TDCA league matches, would be invited to participate in a High Performance coaching program, to be conducted indoors from September to April.
The objective of this program is to prepare our youth players for participation in the 2011 Americas Cup and the Global Worldcup Qualifier. Players from this program would be recommended to the Canadian National teams.

Players are hereby invited to register by downloading the registration form from the web site, filling out and bringing to one of the practice sessions or by emailing Philip Navaratne at philip.navaratne@gmail.com. The practice schedule and coaches will be announced by June 26th. Cut off ages are as follows;
Under 15 – Born on or after Sept 1st 1994
Under 18 – Born on or after Sept 1st 1991

Cost of participation in the practices are free of charge
Cost of participation in the games are $10 per day
The following are the highlights of the program;

During the months of July and August, we will be conducting a Rep team
tournament in the Under-18 and Under-15 age groups. All interested players
from across the GTA, including partner leagues (CCCAT, BEDCL, and H&D), are
invited to register in the program. Players would be divided into East and
West teams by age group. Practices will be conducted twice weekly with some
of the top coaches in the GTA. Weekly games would be scheduled for a 50-Over
and 40-Over tournament in the U18 and U15 ages respectively. Some 2-day
games will also be scheduled. Competitive teams will be selected from the
members participating in the practices. Attempt would be made to give as
much players as possible the opportunity but the focus would be on
competitiveness.
