Errol Barrow overcomes cancer to return to competition (Share)

The day before the start of the 2013 Toronto & District Cricket Association (TDCA) league, Barrow felt a strong urge to resume his playing career in Canada. “After I had finished cutting the grass and helping to put down the matting wicket, I just stood there and looked around the playing area,” he said. “As I admired the surroundings, I told Noel Lewis (he’s also a member of the Maple Leaf ground staff) that I wanted to play here again.” Hours before the season started, Barrow called Civics Cricket Club executive member/player, Glen Robinson, to say he was ready to represent the club.
