YRAA Outdoor Cricket Season underway

The York Regional Athletic Association (YRAA) outdoor cricket season began on Tuesday of last week (September 23, 2014). So far there have been wins for Bur Oak SS, Middlefield and Richmond Hill HS. The result has not yet been posted for the scheduled game between Maple HS and defending 2013 champions Pierre Elliott Trudeau. The regular season continues this week with all games being played at the Fairtree Community Park, Markham, Ontario. Richmond Hill doubled Stephen Lewis 70/35, as is sometimes reported about hockey games in North America. Bur Oak, inaugural winners of the Markham section of the 2014 CIBC CIMA Mayor’s Trophy back in May, overpowered Bill Crothers 102/17. Bur Oak had won this YRAA outdoor cricket championship in 2011 and 2012, according to the Markham Economist and Sun. Middlefield beat Father McGivney 53/52.
