Hamza Tariq featured in SAIT news

Playing on a national team is a great accomplishment in any sport—but when you’re in Canada the cricket team doesn’t get much respect. Hamza Tariq was born in Karachi, Pakistan, but it wasn’t until he moved to Canada that his love for cricket grew. “Cricket is the fastest growing sport in North America,” said Tariq.
Tariq moved with his family to Toronto at the age of 12, and started to play cricket once he moved to Calgary at 15. He started playing on the U-15 team, progressing successively through U-19, provincial, and finally to the national team where he has remained for the last five years.
“I think it’s just in my blood.”
