BC Under-19’s win Jack Kyle Cup

British Columbia Under-19s picked up the 2015 edition of the Jack Kyle Cup with wins in the two T20 games but a defeat in the over game on the weekend of April 25 & 26. BC U19s won the first T20 by six wickets and followed with a 34 run win in game two on April 25 in Stanley Park, Vancouver. Alberta U19’s won the 50 over game on April 26 by two wickets.

Miraj Patel top-scored with 37 and Abdullah Haisan hit 30 in Alberta U19’s 120/8 from 20 overs in the openingT20 game. BC’s Sulaiman Khan (Centurions, BCMCL) picked up 3 wickets for 12 runs. The Victoria & District duo of Vatsal Shah, with 57, and Trenton Schulz-Franco, with 33, lead BC U19’s victory route to 121/4 and a six wicket win.

Sulaiman Khan hit 51 and Trenton Schulz-Franco 47 as BC posted 158/4 in the second T20 game. Mustafa Muhammad made 26 and Arjun Karwal 22 in Alberta’s reply of 124/8 that left BC with a win by 34 runs. Damian Herft (Richmond, BCMCL) picked up 3/22 and Dhruv Bhagat 2/17 (West Vancouver, BCMCL) during the Alberta innings.

BC U19’s was bowled out for 134 after 43 overs in the Sunday 50-over game. Alberta responded with 135/8 after 49 overs to win the game by 2 wickets. Trenton Schulz-Franco continued a useful series with the bat, topping the BC batting with 55 while Irfan Khan took 3/32 during BC’s innings of 134 all out. Miraj Patel saw Alberta home with 35* of his team’s 135/8. Arjun Karwal made 15. Suliman Khan took 2/22 and Dhruv Bhagat 2/25.

Trenton Schulz-Franco and Vatsal Shah play for Colts and Albion Cricket Club in the Victoria & District Cricket League. Sulaiman Khan (Centurions), Damian Herft (Richmond) and Dhruv Bhagat (West Vancouver) play in the British Columbia Mainland Cricket League.
