Cricket Canada XI 141 for 7 wickets (20 overs) beat Mississauga Ramblers 76 for 8 wickets by 65 runs at Iceland cricket oval, Mississauga tonight (June 18, 2015). The game was part of Canada’s preparations for July’s ICC World Twenty20 qualifier. Canadian captain Rizwan Cheema lead the way with 66 and had good support from Navi Dhaliwal in a second wicket partnership.
Saad Bin Zafar picked up a couple of wickets late in the Ramblers innings and ended with 3 wickets for 11. The maturing grass wicket at the Iceland ground and long boundaries provided an opportunity for players on both teams to play some cricket in a season that has been badly hit by games washed out due to rain or wet grounds.
