The Canadian U19s finished up their participation in the West Indies regional U19 competition with a loss to Guyana.
Canada Under19s were all out for 138 (34.1 ov), Miraj Patel top-scored with 33. The top five batsmen all made a bit of a start, making between 9 and 16. Harsh Thaker dismissed the Guyana Cricket Board openers fairly cheaply (19/2) but Baldeo (30) and Paul (51) added 73 for the third wicket. Paul was out (92/3) soon followed by Baldeo (96/4) and at 105/5 (21.3 ov) there may even have been Canadian hopes that the Guyanese innings would fold. One more wicket fell at 121 but Rutherford’s 30* steered Guyana to a winning 142/6. Guyana U19 also qualified for the tournament final and will play Jamaica U19 on Sunday.Overall Canada had a single win and five losses, but the young players will have gained valuable experience.
