Outdoor school season starting in Ontario’s York Region

The outdoor York Region Athletic Association’s (YRAA) Varsity Boys Tier 1 cricket 2015 season is due to launch today (September 30, 2015) when eight of the ten schools are scheduled to play. The ten schools are divided into two Zones, A and B, in round-robin action that continues until October 20. Playoffs will then follow to determine this school year’s YRAA champions.

Woodbridge College are slated to play Middlefield (1pm) followed by Bill Crothers against Bur Oak (3pm) in today’s Zone A schedule. Zone B is due to see Maple High School v Richmond Hill HS at 1pm with Father McGiveney v Pierre Elliott Trudeau at 3pm. All games in the round-robin phase are to be played at McCowan Reservoir. A Markham ground slightly south of the intersection of McCowan and Elgin Mills.

Huron Heights join the Zone A contest on October 8 against Bur Oak. On the same day, Tommy Douglas debut in this year’s Zone B against Bur Oak. Both October 8 games are due to start at 2pm.
