The Superkings beat the Thunderbolts by 8 wickets in the 9th match of the Summer 20-20 league, thanks to a good all round performance. The Thunderbolts batted well against some excellent bowling, taking full advantage of a wicket that offered considerable bounce. They were pegged back by some excellent fielding, with three run-outs coming from direct hits. Some late hitting by Kathir took them to 130 for 8. The superkings got off to a flying start with Kavish and Rakesh Negi putting on 53 for the first wicket in just 6 overs. Kavish hit 2 sixes and five fours in his 39. Rakesh and Sentill put on 57 before Rakesh, who had made the most of some good fortune fell for 39. The Superkings reached the target with 8 balls to spare, and Rakesh was named man of the match for his 4 overs for just 10 runs, and his innings of 39.
In the second game, St.John’s Superkings beat the NewBorns by 16 runs, with Sentill man-of-the match,
St.John’s Superkings scored 112 All out.
New Borns 96 All out.

Torbay field- pitch preparation
Week 3 saw the inauguration of a brand new ground, the Torbay field, a great location with plenty of room for a full sized ground. We hope this might become a permanent home for cricket in St. John’s.

The St. John’s Superkings beat the Thunderbolts by 18 runs in Match 5 of the summer league. Their win was founded on a 99 run opening partnership between man of the match KK and Kathir. Some loose bowling contributed to over 50 extras. Bharat secured three late wickets to restrict them to 139, but some fine bowling kept the run rate well in control when the Thunderbolts batted. The highlight of their innings was a massive straight six from Bharat that only just failed to make it to Portugal Cove Road but when they scored only 44 from the first 10 overs it left just too much to do in the second half.
In the second match New Borns made 112 in 20 overs and St. John’s chased the target in 18 overs.
