Winter League statistics
Thanks to the complete scorecards provided by Chithran and his fellow scorers, we have some statistics from the indoor league – we will update these with information from the semi-finals and final once scorecards are received.
The top batsman in the Winter League was clearly Wasiq Waqar of PSA, with 148 runs. His lowest score in four innings was 24 and he was only dismissed twice, giving him the outstanding average of 74. Kavish Srivasta also scored heavily with 142 runs at an average of 47.33, and Kaivallya Kulkarni had an outstanding average of 76, being dismissed just once in his three innings. His 64 was also the highest innings of the competition.
The top bowler was equally clear – Spartans’ Neelav Diwan. He conceded only 29 runs from 11 overs to give him an economy rate of 2.64, and was also the top wicket taker with 6 (average 4.83). No other bowler had an economy rate under 4. Other economical bowlers included Suhail Zaydi (PSA, 11.1 overs for 55 runs), Kankayaliyan Thiyalampalam (Nachos; 5 overs for 21 runs), and Ashraf Kazi (Asia_Xpress; 8 overs, 41 runs). Ashraf Kazi took five wickets, and Shaifan Ahmed four.
