Re: development

I'll say it again, Canada need an U23 or 'A' team to give experience to young or prospective players prior to throwing them into a full international. Matches against touring sides, USA 'A' team, etcetera would be very beneficial to our national team program. After seeing Devesh Shankar's interviews...

Re: development

^ This appears to be another commercial venture. Seems more sizzle than actual steak but if some Americas players (at least 2 Canadians seem to have signed up for the draft) can earn some money, so be it. I don't know that any actual development will take place.

Re: Canada @ 2019 ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier

Upon reading further, by finishing 4th in their group Canada would have to win a single match to advance from this tournament. Whereas, finishing 2nd or 3rd gives them two shots at advancing. The prospect seems realistic. The issue is that Canada has very little experience in big games at this level...

Re: Whats wrong with Canada cricket?

Emerging cricket article on recent rise of Singapore: https://www.emergingcricket.com/featured/singapore-beating-zimbabwe-big-deal-yes-surprising-not-at-all/ Their recent successes are no accident but rather the result of hard work and lots of matches. The implication is that the board are well-supp...

Re: Whats wrong with Canada cricket?

Lately Singapore, Malaysia have hosted some T20 tournaments or tours. Nepal have been down to that region a few times (not even counting ICC Asian T20 qualifiers). How are these boards able to afford the cost of hosting? Malaysia manages to hold T20Is even though there were no fans watching in the s...

Re: ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League

Yes, I'm sure the points will be carried over to the next "round". Canada and Singapore tied on 8 points with Canada ahead on NRR. Qatar and Denmark not far behind with Canada's loss. Still 2 rounds and 10 matches to be played. Hope that Canada will host a round. Canada must beat Singapore next time...

Bertus de Jong names and shames CC website (and most other Associates). https://twitter.com/BdJcricket/status/1177048748121296896 If Cricket Canada doesn't care, no one else will. If they can't make use of Global T20 Canada to promote their sport, is it a surprise when there are so few fans paying a...

Re: ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League

Well, Canada were pushed ... and did not cope with the pressure. Singapore showing that beating Nepal in Asian T20 regional qualifiers was no accident. If memory serves, Canada lost to Singapore at WCL3 in 2017 as well. Now, they will have a tougher fight to finish 1st in Challenge League 'A'. Perha...
