Re: ICC favorite son/daughter (yet again)

See USA Cricket has just included two Barbados banana boaters, Hayden Walsh &
Aaron Jones on "Team USA" for upcoming D3 tourney. Why doesn't the ICC
just chuck all qualifications standards and put anyone they want on "Team USA". ;) ;) ;)

Re: ICC favorite son/daughter (yet again)

So the ICC gives these mini-minnow South American women's teams their own tourney
but not one for the North American teams?!?!?! Or does Bermuda, Caymans not have women's teams?

Re: ICC favorite son/daughter (yet again)

ICC has recently come out with world rankings for womens T20 cricket.
46 countries, but USA and Canada not even listed! Maybe they haven't played
enough matches to qualify. But did Peru, Chile, Belgium and Swaziland, all of
whom are ranked???

Re: WCL Div.2

Since the North American teams are total no-draws have to
assume ICC's paying the Windies $$$$ to have them
participate.

Re: WCL Div.2

Well, Namibia, nor any other Associate, has ICC Sugar Daddy like USA/Canada does. Which brings up something I've always wondered about: what's the financial arrangements for USA/Canada to play in these Windies events? Does ICC pay the Windies? Windies certainly can't be giving them a cut of the tick...

Re: development

Brousing through the CC Strategic Plan 2018-2020. Claims over 111K kids play
cricket in Canada. Wonder where they got that number! In 2012 says 60 women
played competitive cricket in Canada. By 2016...still only 60! Still depending on
ICC for over 70% of their funding.

Re: CWI Regional Super50

North American cricket authorities (as well as ICC) are totally out of sync with the future of their game. No mainstream North Americans are ever going to watch, much less play, 50 over cricket. Test cricket's dying and ODIs aren't far behind. T20s and ONLY T20s should be the direction of North Amer...

Re: Regional Super50

Don't fret none! ICC will have their favorite son in the tourney even if they have
to fly the players to/from the islands in private jets! ;) ;) ;)

Re: Americas A Qualifier

HA!! After a wretched start (65-6) Team "USA" wins! Two balls left and
Canuck bowler dishes up a slow, full-toss! Real Sunday parks stuff! Neither of these teams gonna go anywhere
in the qualifiers.
