Re: Canadian overseas pros

Yes, all playing. Saad bin Zafar and Ravinderpal Singh had established a track record (albeit a short one in the case of Singh). What is surprising is that Harmandeep Singh managed to get this gig with no more than a few List A's on his resumé. It should be encouragement for younger players. If you ...

Re: Windies Super50

Nick Kirton clearly has talent but seems to suffer from serious problems with confidence. He started this tournament with 3 strong innings followed by 4 poor ones. His professional prospects in the Barbados/CWI set ups are very much up in the air. I'm not sure he is much help to Canada unless he can...

Re: Windies Super50

Thoughts on 2019 Super 50: This tournament has shown Canada has enough talent to play competitive cricket at this level. All being equal, the senior team should have been expected to win a couple of additional games. This tournament was some of the best opportunities ever offered to new players. Wit...

Nov 25: Canada vs Combined Campuses and Colleges Marooners Canada 252 all out (50 ov) CCC: 201 all out (44.2 ov) Canada appeared headed for another poor outing to conclude their Super 50. However, another good start from Pathan and Thaker's stand helped the team to a defensible score against the stu...

Nov 23: Canada vs Barbados Pride
Canada 154 all out (44 ov)
Barbados 156/3 (22.4 ov)

Very poor result for Canada. The players I thought were having a good tournament are not ending it well. The team needs to focus and finish with a good match. Almost no one helped their cause with today's effort.

Nov 21: Canada vs Leeward Is. Hurricanes Leeward Is. 232/9 (50 ov) Canada 183 all out (44 ov) Good start for Canadian bowling leads to an achievable total, though they'd have liked to bowl out the 'canes. Again with the different players excelling match to match. This time Pathan takes 4, Ahmadzai 3...

Re: Windies Super50

Their batting seems to be getting better. It doesn't seem that anyone is really making a name for himself. There have been good performances in every game, but by different people. My thoughts exactly. Selectors won't have an easy time identifying who gets a chance in the full side. If nothing, thi...

Nov 18: Canada vs Jamaica Scorpions Canada 243/9 50 ov Jamaica 246/7 47.5 ov Canada choose to bat 1st. After a good start, Canada suffer quick losses. Kumar gets frustrated and with his wicket goes any chance of a decent score. Harsh Thakar's 60 was the main contribution of note. After having Jamaic...

Re: Windies Super50

Nov 16: Canada vs Jamaica Scorpions Canada 243/7 50 ov Jamaica 247/6 43.4 ov This Canada side is more comfortable setting a target as they again choose to bat, hoping their bowling can contain the opposition. Kumar again provides the bulk of the scoring but the runs were more evenly distributed for ...
