APL seems to be in chaos. Reports that players, umpires, haven't been paid...umpires
refused to umpire...police called...hotel bills not paid. SNAFU with USA cricket.

Re: T20 WC 2024
Have seen reports that ICC going to kick off the 2024 World Cup with the match between USA and Canada. If so, we know four of the five countries in that group: USA, Canada, India and Pakistan.

Re: ICC/Int'l cricket news/discussion
Right, it's not a "perfect analogue"; in fact its a poor one. UAE is a country of 70% expats most from
south Asia (my guess is very few, if any, natives on the UAE team). Canada will be competitive
if the day comes when 70% of its population are south Asian expat.

Re: Canadian overseas pros
No no. They’ll be making money off gambling. Where are you seeing videos? It’s worth saying these games are in Lauderhill. They’re not really growing the fan base are they? And the teams, I think, have no connection to the cities they are supposed to be representing. Videos on their website. Have l...

Organizers are also loosing the shirts off their backs. Been looking
at the videos and for EVERY game the stands are EMPTY! And I
mean EMPTY! Couldn't see more than a dozen spectators.

Re: Associate competitions
T20s killing ODIs just as its killing test cricket. Should actually
help associates. They don't care to play, spectators don't care to
watch, that type of cricket.

Speaking of the CWC, is the ICC going to continue with it? Haven't seen any
mention of it.

Re: Cricket in the 2028 Olympics (Los Angeles)
LA Olympics almost five years out. Much more important is next years WC. Will see what kind of response this gets with mainstream Americans. Still believe "Team USA" will get free pass in 2028 so we'll have to endure the farce of weekenders playing India, OZ, England, etc., not to mention one full m...

cricket in 208 Olympics
According to reports, it's now all but certain cricket will be in the 2028 LA Olympics. Some uncertainty over number of teams but reports say will be six men/women based on rankings. I'm willing to bet they once again give "Team USA" a free pass and let them in, absurd as it is having this bunch pla...

Re: Cricket in the 2028 Olympics (Los Angeles)?
"the USA...will be among the first to take Olympic participation seriously."
Says who? Even as host country "Team USA" won't be in the event. USA Rugby hasn't
got much of a bounce having their sport in the Olympics. Will be good for some associates but
benefit to states/canucks yet to be seen.
