Re: Meanwhile in Alberta

In this interview with the newly elected board, one new member expressed the need to resolve disputes and stop wasting money on them. https://www.facebook.com/SportsTrendsCanada/videos/292268998591000/ (~37:00) Seems like a clear reference to Alberta. Hopefully, this issue is concluded swiftly to th...

Re: Canadians in CPL draft

Pleased for bin Zafar.

Nick Kirton, the Canadian-qualified Barbadian, appears to be on the Jamaica Tallawahs squad. Another shot at professionalism for the inconsistent young man.

Re: Interviews of CC Board, Players, etc.

First two paragraphs of new President's letter to Wickets magazine: I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the stakeholders who have put their faith in me to lead this prestigious organization . I assure the Canadian cricketing fraternity that maintaining the integrity of this office and...

Re: Cricket Canada AGM

So, it seems Ranjit Saini backed out of the race for CC President. Rashpal Bajwa is the new leader. Will this lead to a new direction for CC? Bajwa takes over an organization in better financial shape (due to GT20) than before but with many unresolved issues, such as dealing with the AB dispute. Hop...

Re: Interviews of CC Board, Players, etc.

Apparently, the CC President did another interview on SportTrends on June 21st. I haven't listened to it yet but will post anything of interest when I do. Also, if any news comes to light about that review of the 2019 WCL2 failure or the "new proposal" for women's cricket, I will let you know....

Re: Global T20 Canada 2020

Two-thirds through June and it doesn't seem Southern Ontario will open up quickly enough to play a 2020 edition of the GT20. Any advancement of the Brampton stadium will have to wait another year. Have to agree with some of Eddie Norfolk's sentiments in the article: http://www.canadacricket.com/?p=1...

Re: Cricket Canada AGM

Seems as though some people are intent on staying in control : http://www.canadacricket.com/?p=13301 ;) However, arbitrators and the courts may undo their plans ... in time. Thankfully, one party is shining light on some of what CC would prefer were hidden. It doesn't look good that the governing bo...

Re: Cricket Canada AGM

^ Indeed this is why it would be interesting and possibly enlightening if the leadership of Cricket Council of Alberta were to be the representatives of that province at future AGMs. If they live up to their talk they would be much more likely to give an account of meeting proceedings. Currently, we...

Re: Cricket Canada AGM

CC surprisingly announce their 2019 AGM for June 27-28: https://cricketcanada.org/news-single?nid=118 Apparently they will make an effort to live-stream the open sessions, since the meeting is going to be on-line anyway. The announcement comes a bit late by a few days as far as we understand. So why...
