I have to say I am impressed with the overall performance by these new, but not so young guys. It still takes some skills and great attitude in standing in front of bowlers like Oshane Thomas. If nothing, this tour will create some decent bench strength for future. I still feel we have a very good pool of top 30 players. Just need to get a pro coach..

Their batting seems to be getting better. It doesn't seem that anyone is really making a name for himself. There have been good performances in every game, but by different people.
My thoughts exactly. Selectors won't have an easy time identifying who gets a chance in the full side.

Yeah, we definitely need an upgrade in the coaching and to find a way to give match experience to the players. Several batsmen are hovering around 50% strike rate with runs going begging. On the positive side, this inexperienced team is doing far better than expected.

Nov 21: Canada vs Leeward Is. Hurricanes
Leeward Is. 232/9 (50 ov)
Canada 183 all out (44 ov)

Good start for Canadian bowling leads to an achievable total, though they'd have liked to bowl out the 'canes. Again with the different players excelling match to match. This time Pathan takes 4, Ahmadzai 3 wickets.

Time for someone to show their mettle.
Edit: Pathan has a great day with bat as well as ball. Unfortunately, no one else staying in.

Overall this series is turning out to be a mixed bag. On one side, to be honest, there was a chance of being thoroughly emabarassed, but it did not happen. Infact almost every game Canada has put on decent totals. The down side though is, as Ray pointed out, since different people are doing well in different games, no one is a standout and these type of performances can be classified as 'one-offs'
Lets see how it pans out in a few months time...

Nov 23: Canada vs Barbados Pride
Canada 154 all out (44 ov)
Barbados 156/3 (22.4 ov)

Very poor result for Canada. The players I thought were having a good tournament are not ending it well. The team needs to focus and finish with a good match. Almost no one helped their cause with today's effort.

252. A defendable total. Thaker with 68*. Some commentors saying it's an easy chase on this pitch. Any thoughts?

Nov 25: Canada vs Combined Campuses and Colleges Marooners
Canada 252 all out (50 ov)
CCC: 201 all out (44.2 ov)

Canada appeared headed for another poor outing to conclude their Super 50. However, another good start from Pathan and Thaker's stand helped the team to a defensible score against the students.

Thinking the result of the match was not as important as it was to improve on their past few poor showings. It would be nice to see the bowling respond as well to collect a second win.

Edit: Comfortable win to finish on a positive note. It is likely the first time a Canadian side has ever taken more than a single victory in a Super 50.

And Canada win!! Ur Rehman with 4 wickets and Thaker with an excellent game with bat and ball. Both of Canada's wins were against CCC. Will Canada get ahead of CCC on NRR?
