Any idea of warm ups/preparation for this tournament? It starts in a month. Actually, I don't think they've announced the team yet. I hope there was national representation at the training camp. Obviously, they need to practice outdoors.

So then we're both waiting for news of the squad and warm-ups. :D

I've been checking the ICC site for both the last few days. Nothing yet.

Canada will be among the last to name a squad. England and Sri Lanka appear to be watching the play of their teams in a tri-series to make the final call. Unfortunately, Canada must make its final decisions based on indoor practices.

Squad named:
Astan Deosammy (Captain)
Akhil Kumar
Arshdeep Dhaliwal
Ayush Verma
Benjamin Calitz
Eshan Sensarma
Gurjot Gosal
Mihir Patel
Muhammad Kamal
Nicholas Manohar
Randhir Sandhu
Raqib Shamsudeen
Rishiv Joshi
Udaybir Walia
Harmandeep Singh Bedi

Head coach: Farouk Kirmani

Deosammy, Dhaliwal, Sandhu and Joshi are returnees from Canada's 2018 team. Patel and Bedi appear to be the only players not to make an appearance in last summer's Americas U19 qualifier.

The ICC website is now showing two warm-up matches for Canada (added to initial post). These fixtures provide a great challenge for the young Canadians and to play in these warm-ups would be almost as sought-after as the main competition itself.

1st Warm-up match (15 players):
Canada 271/9 50 ov
West Indies 274/7 46.5 ov

Good game for the young Canadians with several batmen in the runs and Rishiv Joshi taking 4 wickets. They could not hold on for a confidence-boosting win but it is one of the best showings Canada has had against Test nation opposition at this level. The team will look for a more balance bowling attack in their next warm-up against the Aussies.

Canada's first opponent, UAE have shown themselves to be formidable, carrying off victory against New Zealand.

Not much can be said about Canada's second official warm-up against Australia.
Canada were steamrolled by 9 wickets. It only took the Aussies 7.4 overs to surpass Canada's total of 114 with all the Canadian bowlers having economies in double figures. One match they will need to put behind them quickly.

Their first real test awaits against UAE on Saturday.

Disappointing performance today by the u-19 boys. Happens.
Cricket is really picking up everywhere and it is wonderful to see Afg beat SA, and UAE, Zim with such strong squad of under 19 kids.

Canada's next opponent is the host, South Africa. After some underwhelming results in the new year and in their 1st pool match, they'll be feeling the pressure to perform in front of the country. Can Canada take advantage? The last time these two met in the U19 WC, six year ago, the Canadians gave them a good fight and will need to do so again to contain the host nation. Canadian bowlers in particular will need a much stronger performance.
