Yes, I'm starting early :D .

The big news is that there will be an Americas regional qualifier for the 2021 WT20 and crucially two teams will advance to the global qualifiers. There will be two global qualifying tournaments, each sending the winner to the 2021 WT20.

So Canada with the opportunity to remain active in 2020 and 2021 (in addition to the WC Challenge League) and play against top Associates. They must take advantage of it.
Americas
  • Participating teams will compete in one regional final
  • The top two teams will progress to one of the global qualifiers
The 11 qualifying events will take place between March and September 2020. The two eight-team global qualifiers will take place between March and July 2021 and the distribution of the 16 teams across the two events will be confirmed following the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020 when all participants will be known.

I thought it was strange to hear Pres. Saini say Canada has one international tournament in 2020 (the Challenge League). Time for another interview!

^ Good find. I hope Cricket Canada and USA Cricket will try to play the Auty Cup before or after the Americas T20 qualifiers. The Americans have a CWC League 2 tournament in September in Africa and Canada just need matches.

If not the Americans, we should play some 50 over matches against Bermuda and mix in a few young players.

Well, at least this time around ICC bringing in more countries, not like the
farcical "Americas" regional last time which only had three countries.
Nonetheless, this is still the easiest of all the regionals for advancing to the qualifiers.

This is supposed to be held in Canada from Aug. 18-24.
Is it still on? No confirmation from CC. :?: :?:

The T20WC has been postponed by a year. We'll have to wait (and wait...) for an announcement about a qualifying process.

Canada to host July 17-23. The link on the FB doesn't work. Eight teams. It'll come down to Canada USA. Will things be 'back to normal' enough by then?

Big break for Canada. With the old pathway would have had to play a whole slew of
matches, lots of travel, over couple of years. "Team USA" and Canada, of course, will be the two who'll
advance. Critical question will be which of the two qualifying groups they'll end up in.
