With ACE going full blast in the states I'd say its RIP for Global.

I always wondered what happened to promising youngster Bhavindu Adhihetty.

At the time of the 2019 GT20 many wondered why several excellent Canadian candidates were excluded from the draft. Some of the players wondered as well: http://www.crdsc-sdrcc.ca/resource_cent ... 9-0411.pdf

I hope this arbitration case was not the end of his international career though that is exactly what has happened to date. With a new CC president, the damage from the last administration needs to be undone on this and other fronts.

It's 2023 and GT20 has not been heard from since the abandoned 2021 Malaysia attempt. I want to know to what premier Ford is giving $3M. :D
Doug Ford @fordnation
We want our young people to discover the joy of playing cricket, which is why we're providing $3 million for this summer’s GT20 cricket tournament in #Brampton.

Thank you to @oscaschools
for inspiring the next generation of cricketers.

Bertus de Jong saying on the podcast “so we’re told” and he heard from “several people” in Namibia that the GT20 is coming back. deJong also mentioned the $3 mil.

I heard the same podcast. Would be great news, if true. If the Ontario government has mentioned giving money for GT20 then the return of the tournament must be for 2023, right?

A good use of the $3M would be to find a permanent site for the GT20 and CC stadium once and for all - probably in Brampton with help from its mayor.

Maybe you've heard that the National T20 Rock 'em Sock 'em Super Smash Bash Hammer Big is coming in August.

Officially back for Summer 2023 according to Facebook posts. No dates or further details given. Wonderful news for NT players and fans. And I can finally wear my Brampton Wolves hat I purchased in 2019 (please don't change any more franchise names, GT20!).

It's turning out to be a great year for Canadian cricket. Now just need to need to qualify for 2024 WT20.

GT20 Canada 3rd edition : July 20 to August 6, 2023

Featuring 6 teams:
16 players
2 marquee players
3 Canadian National team players
3 emerging Canadian players

Seems the tournament will clash with the first edition of Major League Cricket. Might have been better to play in the late June, early July slot.
