ICC Cricket Satellite (aka USACricket) continues its spending spree. Now hiring
National Men's and Women's Youth Directors. Don't say if these are full time jobs
but if so will mean USACricket would have no less than SIX full time employees!
For an organization with barely 700 paid members! :o :o

CricBuzz reporting that USACricket has cancelled all contracts
of "Team USA" players. Says many of the players had left their jobs and
were being paid as much as $90K. Will they never learn! Only a
fool would gamble his career on USA cricket.

Also reporting this Minor League Cricket gig will start on August 22.
Given that the vast majority of these "clubs" are in the hardest hit
Covid-19 states of California, Texas, and Florida, gotta be skeptical
this will come off.

New ICC Chairman Greg Barclay, in Cricinfo interview, seems to be sold on these
schemes to hold major cricket events in the states to "grow" the game. He's a Kiwi and wonder if he
knows his team aroused absolutely zero interest from Americans when they
played at Lauderhill.

USA Cricket stepping up foreign recruitment to live up to ODI status
From cricinfo and PDP. Timmyj will love it!
It sounds to me that the USA will get guys who are better than anyone else in the USA but that can't get selected for their home country. A lot like MLS. Still, Canada will be in tough to compete at tournaments. Also, much of the article sounds like wishful thinking.

Pretty clear USACricket strategy is to buy themselves full member status.
Must have first class grounds (Indies pay for, CHECK!). Must have first class
domestic league (Indies pay for salaries, CHECK!). Must be able to beat
other full members (couple of wins against Paddies, CHECK!). No broad popularity?
Not in American schools? Not in American colleges?
No sponsor interest? Ignored by American media? Who the hell needs that!

Cricketeurope reporting ACE has signed Paki Sami Aslam and
Kiwi Corey Anderson for this new USA league. The mercenary deluge
has begun... :( :(

Peter Della Penna says on Twitter ACE recruiting a whole slew of
South Africans. Looks like "Team USA" will become "Team U[nwanted] S[outh] A[fricans]"
in three years. :x :x

Surprise! Surprise! ICC Women's Americas Qualifier will be hosted by...(drum roll) USA!!! :o
Only four teams in this regional qualifier by far the fewest (Africa has 11!). And only
one team from each qualifies. Teams a lot better than USA (shoe-ins given the pathetic state
of Canuck women's cricket) will be locked out. :x

See USACricket's just hired an Aussie organization to develop
entry level cricket program for states. More big $$$ for USA cricket...
lets hope we'll get something worthwhile out of it.

Report just out that Sri Lanka players are stampeding to
USA to play for ACE and qualify for "Team USA". Supposed to
be offered good $$$. Wonder how many know what's the
capital of Vermont.
