Over-50s World Cup

Post by tbone » Tue May 29, 2018 6:19 pm

Canada is apparently entering a team in the over 50s World Cup (ie players aged 50+) in Sydney this year. This seems to be the first such World Cup, according to the Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/o50scricketworldcup/

Looks like there will be some good players involved. It is about time Canada got a 50+ side together ... other countries have been doing this for quite a while. It will be good to follow the side.

^ Thanks for this information.

From one of the Over50WC Facebook posts:
The inaugural Over-50s Cricket World Cup will be held this November/December, with 8 national teams expected to participate. The first games will be played on November 21 and teams will play in a round-robin format, before semi-finals and then a grand final on December 5.

The games will be held at some great cricket grounds around Sydney. All games are free entry and spectators are warmly welcomed. The schedule will be published here once it is released.
