Navneet Dhaliwal and Romesh Eranga have seen their stocks rise. Both have surely locked up contracts in next summer’s Global T20 and CPL if they care to sign. Eranga is that badly-needed asset of a wicket-taking bowler to partner with Cecil Pervez. Davy Jacobs did enough to show he can keep the scoreboard ticking in the middle overs.

A fine analysis but it comes with a big problem as far as I can tell...Jacobs is 35 yrs. and Eranga is 33 yrs. By the time the WCQ comes in 2022 they might not even be with the team. If they are still among the best Canada players then that points to much bigger problems! Hopefully Jacobs can coach some guys up at the OCA.

^ True, and Pervez is 34. I suspect (hope) CC sees these players as short-to-medium term help to get Canada into the what was the WCL Championship (now CWC League 2). There Canada would have ample time to bring in the next group of youngsters and rebuild the squad.

"Team USA" beats Jamaica...and beats them badly! Are they now clearly
the top dog of North American cricket?!?! Or is this just a sign
of how bad Windies cricket is?

Nicholas Kirton and his Combined Colleges and Campuses win the 2018-19 Super 50.
On the face of it this seems an upset but given the underwhelming performances of the regional franchises and the absence of some of the WI test team in India, perhaps not. Canada and the USA may have improved slightly but it is more likely the WI player pool is not what it once was.

As for Kirton, he didn't have a great tournament, finishing with 131 runs over 9 matches at an average of 32. He had been doing poorly until a 65 not out against Leeward Islands in the last of the round robin matches. At 20 years old, he might still have a future with Canada but like many others in the team, has to improve his consistency.
