The tournament will be on Oct./Nov. this year. Any Americas team going?

For last tournament, Americas Associate participation wasn't officially confirmed until relatively late. We may not know for a while.

2018 ICC World Cricket League Division 3 (featuring the USA) could potentially overlap with CWI Super 50. If it does would Canada or combined team (Canada + Bermuda) be the Associate representative or would they drop the Associates this time? It could be doubly important because eligibility for the 2018 Caribbean Premier League draft was contingent on Super 50 participation last January.

In response to Victorian's original question, there will be Americas participation in the Super 50. Both Canada and USA are set to participate.
"According to sources, both teams [Canada and USA] have been invited to play in the Cricket West Indies Regional Super50, which is due to start in the first week of October and continue through the end of the month."

I received this message from CWI

"Sorry for the slow reply - we're hoping there are going to be 2 Americas teams!. A few final arrangements going on prior to an announcement on Saturday."

Oh the anticipation!

Good sleuthing from Victorian has produced some (unofficial) information:

https://www.guyfrog.org/news/2018/09/27 ... october-3/

Tournament Dates: Oct 3 to Oct 28.

Group A (in Trinidad and Tobago): Trinidad & Tobago Red Force, Canada, West Indies B and Guyana Jaguars (+ accidental omission of Windward Islands?)
Group B (in Barbados): Barbados Pride, Leeward Islands Hurricanes, Jamaica Scorpions, Combined Campuses and Colleges (CCC) and the United States

Therefore, we can expect the announcement of Canadian team very soon.
Seriously, this is a joke that CWI wait for the last minute to release the schedule for their premier domestic tournament. Do their fans not complain?

Edit: More information from spreadsheet linked in article on canadacricket.com main site.
Schedule : (double round robin)
October 3 Canada vs Windies B
October 5 Windwards vs Canada
October 7 Trinidad vs Canada
October 9 Guyana vs Canada
October 13 Windwards vs Canada
October 15 Guyana vs Canada
October 17 Canada vs Windies B
October 21 Trinidad vs Canada

Most of the matches appear to be afternoon starts.
It appears 3 of the American matches in Group B covered by ESPN.

Good news on the streaming of the Super 50. Part of a plan for CWI to market their product. It will probably attract some fans with links to the West Indies but how will they get new fans interested? As far as tapping the North American market, how do CWI (and Cricket Canada and USA Cricket) make people aware of the stream and get them to watch?

Edit: The good thing about getting the Cricket Canada CricketFest on CBC streaming was that non-cricket fans might stumble upon it. Not sure whether the same will happen on YouTube. Also, the T20 format is more in tune with the North American sports experience as opposed to 6-7 hours for a 50 over match.

North American cricket authorities (as well as ICC) are totally out of
sync with the future of their game. No mainstream North Americans are
ever going to watch, much less play, 50 over cricket. Test cricket's dying
and ODIs aren't far behind. T20s and ONLY T20s should be the direction
of North American cricket. Anything else is just a dead end. Don't see
any meaningful purpose it serves having the North American teams in a format
that has absolutely no future in their countries. :?: :?: :?:
