Prior to the Qualifier the Canadian and American teams participated in a T20 competition featuring T&T women and an Americas XI development team (women from Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Chile, Costa Rica).
Here are Canada's results based on ICC Americas twitter:
May 14: Canada vs Americas XI (Win)
Canada - 142 for 5
Americas - 81 for 9
May 14: Canada vs T&T (Loss)
Canada - 75 (57/2 after 11 overs)
T&T - Chase down total for 8 wickets
May 15: Canada vs T&T (Loss)
T&T - 122
Canada - 66 for 9
May 14: Canada vs Americas XI (Loss)
Canada - 57
Americas XI - Chase down total for loss of 4 wickets in 13 overs
No wonder Canada did poorly in the actual qualifier. Clear evidence of batting collapses. Cricket Canada's silence regarding this entire week of competition is not surprising given the results.
