Bertus de Jong names and shames CC website (and most other Associates).

If Cricket Canada doesn't care, no one else will. If they can't make use of Global T20 Canada to promote their sport, is it a surprise when there are so few fans paying attention to the national team matches, no sponsors stepping forward?

Lets not try to sugar coat it. Canada cricket has been on a downward spiral for years. Gone is the WC. Then
went ODI status. And now down to D3! Why? Pictures tell a thousand words. Look at the team photos of
the Canada national teams from the 60s/70s. What do you see? A cross section of Canada society: Windies players,
Asian players, Brit players even, I think, some mainstream Canucks. Now look at a photo of todays national
team. What do you see? ONLY south Asians. The social support system of the game has SHRUNK, so that it's now
just a game of the south Asian community. The game has no future unless this is REVERSED, and cricket becomes
a NATIONAL, not an ETHNIC game. But I doubt CC sees it this way and my guess is their "big changes" are just
going to be tinkering around the edges: coaching changes, training changes, and more expat recruitment. In
short, the game will continue its downward spiral.
There you go again! Yes there are issues with administration of the game and spreading the game, but you ranting about south asians is racist. There is no harm in having a team that is 100% south asian names. As long as they are Canadians, qualified and selected on merit. That is why I asked you a question which you did not answer.. 'what is a mainstream Canadian to you'?
People like you would rather not see Ashish Bagai, Ashish Patel, Zubin Surkari, Asif Mulla, Harvir Baidwan, Abdul Samad, Abrash, Nitesh, Hiral Patel, Nikhil Dutta, Hamza and many many more boys who were either born here or came here when they were very young, play for Canada!. They learnt cricket here and become the players they were. You take your racist rant about south asians somewhere else please..Even if I am of south asian origin and may not like the situation, but the fact is that cricket is ruled by south asians and that is where the money comes from. You will see south asians in HK, Singapore, Malaysia, UAE, Qatar, Oman teams as well. Infact Canada is most legitimate as it is a immigrant country and we all are Canadians and proper passport holders. Not sure if you are Canadian, but your attitude does not fit in with our country. For a Canadian it does not matter if cricket represented with 15 brown faces, just as ice hockey is with 15 white faces and basketball is with 15 black faces. It does not matter because they all are Canadians.
You will be unsuccessful in what you are trying to do here. I do not care what color Canadian team is, as along as they are all Canadians and qualified. To me there are cricketers first and they sacrifice a lot to play for Canada. I respect that. They do not get paid big bucks to play or train. If you have issues with administration, start a thread. If you want to go on racist rant, get lost. Even the prime minister does not get spared in our Canada.

Real fans of cricket like Daniel Weston, gets everyone who wants to play,to the ground. Without bais. What a inspiring story... In 50 years if Europe catches cricket fever, it will down to him.

Cricket is only played by a small ETHNIC group of Canadians. As such, it will NEVER be
internationally competitive, NEVER get major media attention, NEVER get sponsors or significant
government support, NEVER attract competent management. Better learn to live with all that. :( :(

Absolutely comfortable with that! Let people who like it, play it.
What super achievements does Canada has in other sports on world level that you are holding cricket and race responsible for lesser achievements? Cricket team played 3 WCs, what about soccer? What about Basketball? What about Baseball? How many Canadians feature in NFL?
Bringing race and ethnicity in sports is a shameful thing. Cricket is a sport and whoever loves it, will play it. Others, from a cricket point of view, can get lost. No pandering to anyone should be ever done. That never works!

Just saw Singapore defeat a full member, Zimbabwe. It was mostly 11 hardworking and talented cricketers from diverse, mostly south asian backgrounds, working very hard to get a win for THEIR country. All were human beings and cricketers first, and making their country proud.

Sorry timmyj51, you would be so sad to not see 11 chinese sounding names playing for Singapore making a mockery of cricket playing against some country like Japan! That is your idea of cricket and who should be playing it.

Smoke and mirrors. Sing'pore "beat" Zimbos because of their latest mercenary, the Aussie David.
...and the Zimbos weren't at full strength. Yeah, Sing'pore team "diverse"...no Singporers, all foreigners.

Lately Singapore, Malaysia have hosted some T20 tournaments or tours. Nepal have been down to that region a few times (not even counting ICC Asian T20 qualifiers). How are these boards able to afford the cost of hosting? Malaysia manages to hold T20Is even though there were no fans watching in the stands for their own team at the recent Challenge League. Even Vanuatu seem to have stayed on in Malaysia to play some T20s.

Canada needs to be playing more competitive matches to improve. We will have to get creative in finding ways to host and tour taking advantage of ICC-paid travel. For instance when teams tour the USA, Canada should look to host warm-ups against the visitors. When playing ICC tournaments abroad, stay an extra week for some List A/T20Is against the host nation. Our competitors are finding ways to play. Canada must as well or be left behind.

Excellent suggestion. It would be similar to Ireland and Scots hosting countries when they tour England. CC has to wake up and push for it. But we can't count on that with the CC administration we have. I too was thinking on the same lines, how do these tours happen with so little money being given by ICC.
