Reports stating (maybe not confirmed) that there will be
no CPL matches in Lauderhill this year. Since the operator
of the ground is contractually obligated to hold three
revenue generating cricket matches there per year have
to wonder if this may put the ground itself in jeopardy.
Broward might finally give up on cricket, cut their losses,
and turn the only ICC sanctioned ground in North America
over to soccer or some other sport. If that happens a
devastating blow to the game in North America and all
the "great market potential for cricket in USA" blabbers.
no CPL matches for Lauderhill?
Re: no CPL matches for Lauderhill?
Aren't there women's games in Lauderhill this year? Americas T20 tournament?
Re: no CPL matches for Lauderhill?
That's a "non revenue" event. ICC pays a fee for facility use but not one ticket will be sold.
Plenty of these type of cricket events at Lauderhill but they don't bring in enough $$$ for the county.
