Wikipedia says all games are at Woodley Park, Los Angeles. Apparently, there is training going on in Toronto for the Canadian team. I hope there are some kind of warmup games for preparation. And who's the coach?

^ Yes, apparently the Women's Big Bash took place at the Maple Leaf CC over August 4-7, featuring a guest American team. Info coming from Czarsportz and not Cricket Canada. No idea whether Cheema is still the women's coach, but if he is he might have been otherwise occupied with the GT20.

“Cricket Canada has appointed Prashant Manjrekar as Head Coach and Suthershini Sivernantham as Assistant Coach for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Americas Qualifier 🇨🇦

They are announcing the coaches one week before a major tournament begins! Hopefully they have been handling those duties for a while and we are only now being told publicly.

Canada's Danielle McGahey's participation bringing some attention to an otherwise unnoticed tournament:

There’s also a commentary in The Spectator but I can’t copy the link.

Says he/she's run into "no opposition." Sure will be if Canada wins the qualifier.

The reality is that if Americas women's cricket was more developed, and specifically Canada had a greater depth and level of talent, McGahey would not even be in the picture for selection. As long as the issue of transgender women in cricket remains confined to weak associates like Canada, there will be relatively little push-back against the ICC's current policy. That will change should a transgender woman be on the verge of representing an England or Australia.
