Inverhaugh Cricket Club

Post by cricket1 » Wed Aug 08, 2018 1:19 pm

Inverhaugh Cricket Club played its final two matches this past weekend. An Invitational match on Aug. 4th and Stratford Festival on Monday, Aug 6th.

Both days produced good cricket and other festivities. This was a very emotional weekend as cricket will no longer be played at Inverhaugh, after 23 years.

Sad to see the end of an era but many congratulations on the outstanding work and success of the last 2.5 decades. No one else could have done it. Great memories of playing there, with its unrivalled setting and hospitality. Best of luck in your next projects.

Did CC every show interest or put in a bid? Use that half mil from the CPL for a
down payment. Would have made a great
national headquarters along with your own grounds.

Actually , I did suggest this . Plus the involvement of The Mercuri Group & a possible High performance centre.

Purchase by Mercuri Group, leased to Cricket Canada for $1.00. Coaches to live in the house, part of their compensation. Mercuri maintains ownership, Cricket Canada just have to raise the funds to maintain the grounds, which was easily doable.

Players could be housed in the summer at Waterloo University, Laurier and University of Guelph .The dorms are usually empty during the summer.

Anyway, it's too late now. What a pity !

Looks like its going to be converted into one of these shady
one-night-stand luxury nests for cheaters and wife swappers.
So much for the "fastest growing game in the country."
