^ Nov 11: Canada vs Barbados Pride
I hope Canada have a good attitude, Victorian because they'll need it. Again the top order has failed. Canada 66/5 at the mid-point of the innings.

Meanwhile, Kirton of Barbados has done well in his first two innings (55, 42) of the tournament.

Canada 161 all out, 48.2 ov
Barbados 162/1 in 30 ov
Edit:
It is becoming clear that this improvised Canadian team is very light in batting and a bit stronger in bowling.
Nick Kirton with another good knock for Babados.

This is the problem with "Teams" USA & Canada in this tourney. They're not Windies
countries, have no nationalistic motivations. It's just a glorified training session.
Anyhow, still wanna know if they have to pay to play in this thing.

Nov. 14: Canada vs Colleges and Campuses Marooners
Early start today (8AM EST). Canada loses the toss and are asked to bat. So far, Kumar is the only player scoring.

Canada 249 all out (49.1 ov)
CCC 149 all out (35.1 ov) Canada win by 100 runs!

Canada kept their wickets early absorbing lots of dot balls with Kumar keeping the scoreboard going. Eventually, opener Mehta and later Ahmadzai contributed to the team's best showing so far. Congrats to Kumar on staying in for his century. When he fell, only Ahmadzai was able to continue on.

Edit: Canada closing in on their first victory. A good combined effort from the bowlers. A fine result for our inexperienced side. Most of the team need much improvement before stepping into the full national team but this tournament should help considerably.

187/3 and 240/5 and they end up at 249! It is defendable and the commentators are saying it's a must win game for CCC so game on! At the Victoria v. Vancouver representative game this summer, I thought the bowling was better than the batting. This should be a focus going forward.

Kanwar Mann and Harrobindeep Sekhon played in Australia last season as did Arslan Khan.
SKOB are delighted to announce the signing of Canadian duo Kanwar Mann (left) and Robin Sekhon (right) for the first half of the 2018/19 season!

Mann, a spin bowling all-rounder, and Sekhon, a keeper-batsman, are both highly regarded by national selectors, and are expected to join the club before the round 3 clash with Ashburton.

We are very pleased to be continuing our strong relationship with Cricket Canada.

Apparently, SKOB play in just one association of many in Melbourne, not to mention all the others in the country! Good for them and everything, and probably playing on turf pitches, but way down the competition ladder in Oz. Also, I'm disappointed in the high ages of these guys. They might be the near future for Canada but they're already getting old😜! I hope some other team members are 20 yrs.

^ Indeed, probably not a very high level of play in Australia but at least they stepped out of their comfort zone. It will be something young Canadians will need to continue (hopefully in higher tiers of Full Member domestic cricket) to become better.

As for being too old, I would agree that at 30 or 31, Shahid Ahmadzai's time has to be now. He either distinguishes himself from the rest of the pack or Canada won't be able to get much out of him. There is still hope for guys in their mid-twenties like Sana, Tathgur, Mehta and Mann. After all, Navneet Dhaliwal, arguably our most consistent bastman made his List A debut at age 26. I think the problem for the selectors lies in giving sufficient opportunity to these players with limited international competitions and only so many places in the team.

I don't know how many of this squad will be good enough, consistent enough for the national team but this Super 50 has revealed there is perhaps more depth to the Canadian player pool than previously realized.

Nov 16: Canada vs Jamaica Scorpions
Canada 243/7 50 ov
Jamaica 247/6 43.4 ov

This Canada side is more comfortable setting a target as they again choose to bat, hoping their bowling can contain the opposition. Kumar again provides the bulk of the scoring but the runs were more evenly distributed for this match.
Canada's bowlers were managing Jamaica quite well until Rovman Powell came to the crease and started crushing the ball. Tough lesson for the young team that they will have to quickly recover from.

Nov 18: Canada vs Jamaica Scorpions
Canada 243/9 50 ov
Jamaica 246/7 47.5 ov

Canada choose to bat 1st. After a good start, Canada suffer quick losses. Kumar gets frustrated and with his wicket goes any chance of a decent score. Harsh Thakar's 60 was the main contribution of note.
After having Jamaica 4 down half-way through their innings, Canadian bowling lacked edge as the Scorpions coasted. Dropped catches and poor fielding didn't help matters.

Their batting seems to be getting better. It doesn't seem that anyone is really making a name for himself. There have been good performances in every game, but by different people.
