Some interesting information here:

1) Had long queried (with no replies) whether USA/Canada had to pay to play
in the Windies competitions. Now have the answer. ;)

2) $86K for 16 people staying two weeks in the states!!! That's more than $5K
per person!!! Have been to Canada many times
and stayed there for two weeks for under $1500. :o

3) Get people from non-cricket backgrounds to GT20? Hmmm...hasn't
Yours Truly long been demanding every expat that goes to that event must bring
two non-cricket background friends with him! 8-)

Sports Trends interviewed leaders of Cricket Ontario and several of its leagues regarding the 2020 coronavirus-affected season.
Leaders of Toronto & District Cricket Association, Brampton-Etobicoke & District Cricket League, Hamilton & District Cricket League, Ottawa Valley Cricket Council, Scarborough Cricket Association, Mississauga Cricket League were featured.

April 4, 2020

Major points:
* All the leagues are in the same boat waiting for ground permits from the various municipalities before they know how much of a cricket season can be played.
* Those leagues that have collected playing fees will refund the clubs based on the length of season that is possible or credit them for 2021 season.
* GT20 2020 tournament is in a similar situation and must wait to see when/if they are given permission to access the field. City of Brampton was planning to start setting up the temporary stadium early but this is now on hold.
* BEDCL was planning to introduce leagues for youth, women and seniors for 2020 season.
* MCL was planning to add 50 over league

Update: Nitish identifies playing time (league and international) and not having a full-time national coach for any length of time as key factors in Canada's lack of success in recent years.
