The Search For the Missing Canada vs. Scotland Cassette with the help of Jon Goodspeed of FOX Sports World Canada.

Q:
We have noticed that FSWC has a cricket program, called Classic Cricket Matches that airs on Monday Mornings. We also understand that you have various sports news programs on during the day that covers cricket.

We would like to make a request that you air the Qualifying match between Canada and Scotland held in Toronto in July 2001. This will be a great way to draw more subscribers and viewers. As you know there is a large following of Cricket in Canada.

A:
Unfortunately we do not own the 2003 Cricket World Cup Qualifying match between Canada and Scotland, and therefore would not be able to air it.

Q:
Do you know who does own the rights to this match that was played between Canada and Scotland in July 2001?

If so, could you please let me know so that I may contact them?

A:
Sorry I'm not sure who owns the rights to telecast the match.

Q:
Sorry, we might be asking too many questions. But, we need your help in finding out how we can get this match shown on Canadian Television.

We know two things for sure:

  1. The match that was played between Canada and Scotland in July 2001 was produced using trucks rented from the CBC. There was a full production team with commentators and various camera angles etc.
  2. This match was shown on some network somewhere in the world, presumably in Scotland.

Now, you have told me that you do not have the rights to show this match in Canada. This means that someone else has the rights to show this match here. However, you do not know who that is. Is it possible that nobody in Canada has the rights?

Is FOX Sports World Canada interested in obtaining the rights from the ICC or the person who does have the rights here in Canada?

A:
I don't mind the questions. We do not have the rights, and it's possible that nobody in Canada has the rights. We will be looking further into this matter.

Q:
Thank you Jon for your help in this matter
