Summer season is cricket season in Mississauga. At least, that’s the way the Corporate Canada Cricket Club (C4) sees it. The club recently organized the innaugural Mississauga Mayor’s Cricket Festival at Courtney Park Field. The goal of the festival was to promote the game of cricket as well as a healthy lifestyle. Mayor Hazel McCallion showed up and C4 founder and chairman Fasih Masood said her support means a lot for the sport of cricket in the city.
“She has been phenomenally supportive,” Masood said. “From day one she’s been very considerate and she understands the importance of promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.”
Co-organizer Farhan Khan said the City was extremely helpful in organizing the event. “They’ve provided us with the facility and have marketed our event across the city so their support has been great.”
C4 will put on a similar event in Brampton on September 18. For more information, visit www.corporatecricket.org
