Maple High School beat Pierre Elliott Trudeau High School, last year’s champion, in the final of the York Regional Athletic Association’s (YRAA) Boys Varsity Cricket Championship on Wednesday (October 19, 2016) at McCowan Reservoir, Markham, Ontario. Maple HS bowled out P.E. Trudeau for 92, then scored a winning 94/2.
Maple HS, the West group winner, began the day with a semi-final win against Bur Oak Secondary School. P.E. Trudeau, the East group winner, beat Richmond Hill High School in the other semi-final.
This year’s YRAA cricket championship drew a record entry 13 schools.
