{"id":11336,"date":"2018-03-22T16:10:12","date_gmt":"2018-03-22T19:40:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.canadacricket.com\/?p=11336"},"modified":"2018-03-22T16:10:12","modified_gmt":"2018-03-22T19:40:12","slug":"cricket-in-ontarios-provincial-parks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.canadacricket.com\/?p=11336","title":{"rendered":"Cricket in Ontario&#8217;s Provincial parks?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From Parks Blog- the web log of Ontario&#8217;s Provincial Parks.<br \/>\nSupport Bronte Creek Provincial Park<br \/>\nAs part of the Ontario Parks\u2019 125th anniversary, we\u2019re asking Ontarians to help us fund five legacy projects across the province.<br \/>\nBronte Creek Provincial Park\u2019s project is\u2026<br \/>\n\u2026the construction of the first cricket ground in the provincial park system!<br \/>\nWhy is a cricket ground a right \u201ccorker\u201d of an idea?<br \/>\nWe wanted to mark Ontario Parks\u2019 125th anniversary with an exciting new facility for our visitors, and cricket was a perfect fit!<br \/>\nBronte Creek Provincial Park has been a popular picnicking destination since 1975, drawing visitors from Toronto, Hamilton and Milton and all locations in between.<br \/>\nBecause it\u2019s so close to Toronto and the GTA (located just north of the QEW between Oakville and Burlington), Bronte Creek provides the \u201cfirst provincial park\u201d experience to many Ontarians.<br \/>\nIn the spirit of Healthy Parks Healthy People, Bronte Creek wants visitors to get active outside! The park offers 13 km of nature trails and bike paths, a huge outdoor swimming pool, outdoor play equipment, and a renowned disc golf course.<br \/>\nAnd on any given weekend in the summer, you\u2019re likely to find a group of picnickers playing cricket.
