The two lower grounds had to be used to host three groups of three schools. Before the semi-finals were played the coaches met to discuss moving the Girls Final to next Tuesday when four Toronto Boys High School teams are due to compete for the CIMA Toronto Boys High School Canadian Tire Trophy.<\/p>\n<p>In Thursday&#8217;s Girls semi-finals, York Memorial Collegiate Institute (CI), winners of Group A, restricted Emery CI (best second placed team in group play) to 24 runs for the loss of 7 wickets from 6 overs then racked up a winning 25 for 3 after 3.3 overs. George S. Henry Academy, the 2017-2018 Toronto District School Board&#8217;s High School Girls Outdoor Champions, was held to 27 for 6 when the 6 overs ended against West Humber CI. The game produced a close finish. A wide took West Humber to a winning 28 for 6 with 2 balls to spare in a tight finish.<\/p>\n<p>Competition Structure<br \/>\nNine teams from Toronto Girls High Schools competed for the Canadian Tire Trophy in the CIMA Mayor\u2019s school cricket tournament at Sunnybrook Park, Toronto on May 23, 2018. These school teams were divided into three groups, each group with three teams. The top team from each group and the school with the best points and net run rate of the second-placed teams in the three groups progressed to the semi-finals.<br \/>\nGames were played to a maximum of 6 overs per innings.<br \/>\nGroup A comprised York Memorial Collegiate Institute (CI), David and Mary Thomson CI and Lester B. Pearson CI.<br \/>\nGroup B comprised Agincourt CI, North Albion CI and George S. Henry Academy.<br \/>\nGroup C comprised West Humber CI, Emery CI and Victoria Park CI.<br \/>\nNote: Due to construction activity at the north end of the north ground, only two of the three cricket grounds at Sunnybrook Park were available for use. So all matches were played on the lower level East and West grounds.<br \/>\nRecent Achievements of Participating Schools<br \/>\nGeorge S. Henry won the Toronto District School Board\u2019s 2017-2018 outdoor cricket City Championship with a win against York Memorial CI.
