A little late for anyone wanting to actually go and watch, but late is better than never. The Summer Festival will apparently feature a West Indies B team, and there are further matches today, on Thursday, and T20s over the long weekend.
So well done Cricket Canada on organizing the event- how about going to the next level and telling us who is playing for Canada A, Canada, and the “Toronto Bears”, and even the score of yesterday’s game? There is a match set up on CricHQ for yesterday, which suggests live scoring may take place at some point.
Update: The Toronto Bears apparently beat the Canadian A team, based on a CricHQ scorecard.
The Bears batted first and were bowled out for a meagre 126 in 24.1 overs, with West Indian Royston Crandon top-scoring with 34. Romesh Don took 2/6 opening the bowling, Kanwar Mann 2/10 and Gurinder Thandi 2/24. This proven enough for a 19 run win as the A squad mustered just 107, Harsh Thaker making 25 and Sukhdeep Brar 21. Raj Nannan and Ryan Nurse took 3 wickets each for the Bears who seem to be mostly derived from non-Canadian qualified cricketers playing semi-professionally in the Toronto leagues. The A squad contains a mix of those who took part in the national T20, and others who were picked directly. It appears that the A squad consists mostly of Toronto based players.

Update: The WICB have announced the West Indies B squad to play in the tournament:-
Anthony Bramble (Captain)
Sunil Ambris
Alick Athanaze
Sheeno Berridge
John Campbell
Keacy Carty
Justin Greaves
Derval Green
Jahmar Hamilton
Sherman Lewis
Kyle Mayers
Kimani Melius
Jeavor Royal
Jomel Warrican

Team Management Unit
Esuan Crandon (Head Coach)
Sir Curtly Ambrose (Coach)
Alexander Forde (Strength & Conditioning Trainer)
Neil Barry (Physiotherapist)
Avenesh Seetaram (Data Capturer)

A couple of hours after our post here questioning whether Cricket Canada’s Summer Festival was actually taking place, Cricket Canada responded by publishing a schedule on their web site, showing there was apparently a one-day match yesterday between a Canada A team and the Toronto Bears.
