No explanation has been provided by Cricket Canada. While there&#8217;s no question that the very experienced Jacobs is well qualified for the post, Nitish Kumar has been a successful captain of the team, leading Canada to promotion to Division 2 of the ICC World Cricket League, and only missing out on qualification for the global World Cup qualifier by the narrowest of margins.<br \/>\n<strong>Update 2:<\/strong> The latest listing of the Canada squad for the Super50 now shows Davy Jacobs as captain and also includes Bhavindu Adhihetty and Ruvindu Gunasekera.  <\/p>\n<p>The team is:-<\/p>\n<p>David Jacobs<br \/>\nNitish Kumar<br \/>\nCecil Pervez<br \/>\nDilon Heyliger<br \/>\nNavneet Dhaliwal<br \/>\nNikhil Dutta<br \/>\nHarsh Thaker<br \/>\nSalman Nazar<br \/>\nSrimantha Wijeyeratne<br \/>\nVarun Sehdev<br \/>\nRodrigo Thomas<br \/>\nRomesh Don<br \/>\nSukhdeep Brar<\/p>\n<p>Ravinderpal Singh had to withdraw for personal reasons and a replacement will be named shortly.<\/p>\n<p>The team is a mix of experienced internationals  and relatively new names. Davy Jacobs (101 List A matches and 14 first-class hundreds in South Africa) will bring significant experience to the team now he is qualified to play for Canada.
