On April 1, 2020 Mr Paul Freier, Chair of the Region of Peel Secondary Schools Athletic Association (ROPSSAA) announced the cancellation of the ROPSSAA Spring Season in a statement posted on the official website:
\n\u201cAs a result of the current global pandemic of COVID-19 and the impossibility of forecasting the return to normal school activities, it is with great disappointment that we announce the cancellation of the ROPSSAA Spring Season.\u201c
\n\u201cROPSSAA has not yet made a decision regarding the Annual General Meeting scheduled for June 18, 2020. Once a decision has been made, we will update you all. We are open to suggestions. Motions for changes to the ROPSSAA Constitution can be submitted in writing to the Athletic Convenors by May 1, 2020. If you have a motion you would like to discuss, please reach out to Laura and Ian.\u201d
\n\u201cROPSSAA would like to thank all of the dedicated teacher\/coaches and student athletes who have committed their time and energy to their sports throughout the year. Now is the time to look after yourselves and your families. ROPSSAA is looking forward to continuing normal operations as soon as it is deemed appropriate.\u201d (Emphasis added)
\nSo this year\u2019s ROPSSAA indoor cricket season reached the stage of having schedules for the two Boys and one Girls events but not one game was played.
