{"id":1635,"date":"2011-06-24T16:27:16","date_gmt":"2011-06-24T19:57:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.canadacricket.com\/?p=1635"},"modified":"2011-06-24T16:27:16","modified_gmt":"2011-06-24T19:57:16","slug":"cima-toronto-mayor%e2%80%99s-xi-uk-tour-2011","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.canadacricket.com\/?p=1635","title":{"rendered":"CIMA Toronto Mayor\u2019s XI, UK Tour 2011"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The twelve player CIMA Toronto Mayor\u2019s XI for this summer\u2019s cricket tour to the United Kingdom was announced at Toronto\u2019s City Hall on Friday (June 24, 2011).<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nIt seems this year\u2019s tour was in jeopardy, due to financial constraints, according to Tom Mihalik, owner of Tom\u2019s Place in Toronto\u2019s Kensington Market and a sponsorship supporter of &#8220;Cricket Across the Pond&#8221;, pointed out RBC made a return as sponsor, at the last minute, to help save this year\u2019s tour.<br \/>\n\u00a0<!--more--><br \/>\nThanks are due to the sponsors and those who have worked to create this fourth annual Toronto Mayor&#8217;s XI &#8216;Cricket Across the Pond&#8217; tour.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nTour squad: Michael Walton (18, captain, Emery CI); Akshay Shah (16, George Harvey CI) ;Akeel Cheema (18, Kipling CI), Manav Parikh (17, Sir Wilfred Laurier CI), Parth Patel (18, Woburn CI), Neil Ramkissoon (17, West Hill CI), Talha Shaikh (17, George Harvey CI), Malav Patel (17, North Albion CI), Aashin Patwari (17, Woburn CI), Yug Rao (17, Woburn CI), Dipenkumar Patel (21, Ryerson University), and In Ho (Gus) Cha (17, Upper Canada College)<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nNote: &#8220;CI&#8221; stands for Collegiate Institute<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nAdil Askary is the coach\/manager for this year\u2019s tour. Adil is now Vice-Principal at Weston CI, having previously been at North Albion CI.
