Roger Seepersad writes as follows:-<br \/>\n&#8220;Trinidad and Tobago&#8217;s Champions League Twenty20 preparation hit a snag yesterday when it was announced that the national team would not participate in a tri-nations tournament in Canada next month, one of two warm-up events T&#038;T were scheduled to play ahead of their trip to India in September. Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB) chairman of selectors Dudnath Ramkessoon, who is also overseeing T&#038;T&#8217;s preparations, confirmed yesterday that lack of funds forced the Board to opt out of the tournament, which would have involved hosts Canada and 2010 World T20 participants Afghanistan.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The withdrawal of Trinidad and Tobago is highly unfortunate, depriving the national team of games against top-class opposition, as is the communications failure that resulted in these conflicting media reports. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cricket Canada yesterday issued a press release promoting the Etihad Summer Festival featuring a three-way international 20-20 tournament, with guests Afghanistan and Trinidad and Tobago.
