An exciting day of cricket saw Canada lose to Trinidad and Tobago, and Afghanistan beat the USA. That left three teams with 2 wins, but net run-rate saw Trinidad and Tobago with the championship, and Canada runners up.

\nCanada got off to a poor start against T+T, losing two wickets both bowled by Badree in the first three overs – Patel getting a golden duck. Wadia hit a nice straight four and then a very hard return catch was put down by Ganga. After four overs Canada were 16\/2. Wadia had difficulty dealing the short pitched bowling of Emrit and skied a pull for an easy catch. Cheema hit Imran Khan for a big straight six, and smashed through the covers for four next ball. He didn’t last long, as an attempted big hit went straight to a fielder stationed in the deep. Jimmy Hansra finally found some form, and struck a lovely six over cover. He made 25 from 31 balls but was the fifth wicket when he skied a hit to the deep – 60\/5. Yet again Hamza Tariq and Limbada were faced with an uphill battle. This time Limbada was not able to provide much support, falling to a simple catch. Tariq was forced to try the big shots and he too fell to a catch in the deep, and Canada were struggling to make three figures. Tyson Gordon and Khurram Chohan batted well until Gordon trying to repeat his straight six from the previous ball again holed out in the deep. Chohan fell the same way next ball to put Sherwin Ganga on a hat-trick – 94\/9. Baidwan smashed three boundaries from the final over to take Canada to 112\/9. <\/p>\n
Canada as well took early wickets, T+T being two down early, but then Barath led a fightback. He and Jason Mohammed quickly put the game out of reach for Canada. Barath reached an excellent half-century. Jason Mohammed was well caught off Cheema but T+T passed Canada’s total in the 17th over, Barath 69 not out. That left three teams on two wins and one loss, but net run rate gave T+T the tournament.<\/p>\n
