This playoff, between that day\u2019s two Senior High School group winners, saw Woburn notch 81 runs for the loss of four wickets in 12 overs.  David and Mary Thompson responded with a creditable 73 runs for eight wickets, to lose by eight runs.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Wednesday\u2019s Boys Middle Schools action at Sunnybrook Park culminated with Valley Park Middle School beating Dr. Marion Hilliard Senior Public School in that  day\u2019s  group winner\u2019s playoff game by 54 runs.  Arsalan Khan was a key factor in this game.  He made 40 runs in Valley Park\u2019s total of 96 for four wickets (10 overs), then took four wickets for just one run in two overs when bowling. Three of those wickets were caught and bowled ; in cricket the expectation is that the bowler (pitcher, in baseball terms) should be able to catch the ball, just like any other fielder.  Dr. Marion Hilliard managed an all-out score of 42.<\/p>\n<p>The group matches for the Middle Schools on Wednesday at Sunnybrook saw Dr. Marion Hilliard begin with a 35 run win against Charles Gordon Senior Public School in the 9am round of matches.  A quickfire win by nine wickets against Meadowvale Public School then ensured Dr.  Marion Hilliard\u2019s team won Group C and qualified for the playoff game. Meadowvale reached 41 for 9 wickets in ten overs.  Marion Hilliard blasted 42 runs for the loss of one wicket in 3.2 overs (three overs and two balls, for those unfamiliar with cricket bowling \u201cdecimals\u201d).<\/p>\n<p>Charles Gordon hit a lofty 113 for one wicket in ten overs against Meadowvale, with Yonaz scoring 84 not out.  Meadowale was then bowled out for 62 in 9.5 overs.<\/p>\n<p>Valley Park won group D thanks to a 44 run win over Robert Service Senior Public School and a 40 run win against D.A. Morrison Middle School.  Arsalan Khan made 48 not out as Valley Park tallied 102 for two wickets (10 overs) against D. A. A.
