\nOPL T20 released its teams today and issued the revised match schedule. Every team includes three national players. National captain, Rizwan Cheema, and national team youth stars Hiral Patel and Ravindu Guneskera are among the top stars that have committed to participate in the tournament. Other national players that are making the teams include Damodar Daesrath, Usman Limbada, Jeremy Gordon, Trevin Bastiampillai, Zameer Zahid, Parth Desai and Junaid Siddiqui.

\nKeeping its promise to open up the teams to the youth, the league has gone ahead and drafted four youth players in the each of the four teams. As per the league rules, two youth players must play in the playing eleven. According to management, this has been done to ensure that the youth has the opportunity for exposure and gain experience by playing alongside national and senior players.<\/p>\n

The tournament will also debut two players from Nova Scotia. As a provision to support promising players from regions that normally do not have access to such opportunities opportunity, OPL T20 has provided limited access to players from the other provinces who have received recommendations from their respective provincial boards.<\/p>\n

There have been slight changes in the schedule, as the tournament will now start on July 14th at 5:30 PM and the finals will be played on July 21st, 2012. There is a special event scheduled for the 21st in between the final games.<\/p>\n

OPL T20 is making efforts to expand entertainment content by adding cheerleaders to the event; this will be a Canadian first for cricket. The tournament begins this coming Saturday at 5:30 PM at Malton Cricket & Sports Club Grounds. Matches will be streamed live on internet. Visit www.oplt20.ca<\/a> for more details.<\/p>\n
