Global Toronto’s John Kennedy reports that Cricket Canada are looking at Toronto Islands for a new national cricket stadium.

\nCricket Canada has pitched a plan to build a stadium on the southwest tip of the Toronto Islands.
\n\u201cIt would be our national home,\u201d says Cricket Canada CEO Doug Hannum.
\nThe organization is seeking a 25-year lease on land adjacent to the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. Hannum says if a deal with the City is done by the fall, there could be a cricket pitch on the site next spring. Construction of a stadium would take several years.<\/p>\n
